The Story

In another dimension lies the environmentally turbulent planet Konatsu. A young elvenmage, ORLOFF, is kidnapped after a raid on his home village and is taken to the winter region. His main companion, fairy CARISSA, escapes to the north-eastern most city, Castdust, where Orloff endures formidable years of torture, which fill him with hatred and a thirst for revenge. His anger deepens as he matures into a young man, and he becomes supremely powerful as rage fills his void. When he finally breaks free and escapes, a new-world order ensues.

Orloff’s long-awaited escape coincides with the birth of a young elven-mage, RANGARD. The combination of the simultaneous events causes the geography of the planet to completely change. The once centrally located capital, Shiroin City, is decimated and morphs into the Jaaknami Sea, of which Orloff takes control. This geographic change comes with a price: Orloff’s soul latches itself to Konatsu’s different corners of the world. Orloff builds his new army in the center of the four regions (spring, summer, fall, winter), and his plot for revenge becomes imminent.

The events following reveal what happened to Konatsu, which calls for a meeting of tribes in Rangard’s village. Realizing that Orloff has the upper hand, the leaders ultimately decide to split the power evenly amongst every region of the world. Rangard comes to understand the critical role that he plays in stopping Orloff. He must head to Castdust to kill the soul-bonded Carissa.

Orloff attacks the village, murders Rangard’s father, HUEBORD, and captures Rangard’s mother, AKARI. The village falls, thrusting Rangard into his mission with fairy KATARA, his trusted horse BRANTUS, and the salty dwarf NOBO. They stumble upon a small farming town where Rangard falls in love with KIREINA, a young free-spirited elf. AKUI, Kierina’s brother by orphaned rescue, crumbles in a fit of jealous rage for fear of losing his love. Orloff sends two assassins after Rangard. The attack goes awry and only one evades with the crazed Akui, who both then return to Orloff. Akui is sequestered to control the Summer hemisphere of the planet. A major battle occurs in the south-west, during which Orloff’s forces are defeated. This first defeat diminishes his persona.

In the north, Kireina is taken by one of Carissa’s henchmen. Nobo leaves the mission out of self-doubt for their survival. Rangard and Katara make their way to Castdust, where Carissa’s army attacks them. They succeed in reaching the city by scaling the walls. Rangard and Katara are tossed into Carissa’s hallucination that reveals Katara as Carissa’s daughter. They fight Carissa and are about to face defeat until Nobo reappears and sacrifices his own life to kill Carissa. The city crumbles. Rangard survives and sets his sights on advancing to his next mission: defeating Orloff and saving his mother.
